Design Manager
Job Description
Responsibility :
- Lead and manage the design and development of Cartonators and other packaging machinery for the pharmaceutical industry.
- Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to understand design requirements and provide optimal packaging solutions.
- Oversee the creation of detailed design drawings, schematics, and prototypes for packaging systems.
- Ensure that designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., cGMP, ISO standards).
- Identify and implement improvements in design processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct testing and validation of designs, providing troubleshooting support as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest packaging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to the design team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Manage project timelines and budgets to ensure that designs are delivered on time and within scope.
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers to source materials, equipment, and components as per design specifications.
Educational Background: B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical/Production Engineering or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
Experience: 15+ years of experience in packaging design, specifically in cartonators, preferably within the pharmaceutical packaging industry.
- Strong expertise in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for designing packaging systems.
- In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical packaging standards and regulations.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with other departments.
- Strong project management skills with a focus on delivering results within deadlines.
