Responsible for the design and development of DSS (Datacom & Specialty Solutions) I/O products. Independently executes the project and delivers to the stakeholders. Manages new product development & modifications through the complete implementation process to develop product that meet or exceed product performance per internal Molex standards, industry standards or customer specifications.
Good Interaction with Engineering, Manufacturing, Electrical engineering, AQP and marketing team

What You Will Do
Project Definition: Product scope, voice of customer, concept generation
Predictive Engineering: Executes DFMEA, Tolerance Analysis.
Detailed Design: Creates product models & drawings using GD&T methodology, plastic and sheet-metal part design
Design and Development of new gen connector product, from concept generation to DFMEA, DFM/DFA, prototyping, and testing.
Utilizes a working knowledge of tooling design and manufacturing processes to determine the impact on various design attributes
Works with manufacturing engineering to develop manufacturing processes utilizing the latest 3 D CAD modeling techniques and other DFM tools..
Follow NPI and PDP process to develop and implement new products per industry standards on time.
Understand the functional requirements of a product and ensure that the design changes meet the functional requirements
Interpret analysis results with respect to results obtained by Simulation and Product testing.
Checks engineering, manufacturing and sales drawings for completeness and accuracy.
Work globally with teams to bring products to production.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
REQUIRED:
Experience in design and development of plastic and sheet metal components
Experience in DFM, DFMEA, Tolerance stack-up and Component validation & Qualification.
Experience in design & development of electromechanical Products.
Proficient in solid modeling experience to generate 3 D models & 2-D drawings using NX tool.
Strong English verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Power Point
Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and in a team
PREFERRED:
Good working knowledge in tooling design specially in Die and Molding
Designing plastic and sheet metal components and related tooling’s
Understanding of product/tool DFM, DFA and DFX techniques
Possesses skill of different molding/manufacturing techniques
Proficient in Siemens UG NX and PLM/ECTR/Teamcenter software
Experience in the design of electro mechanical or connector is added advantage.
EDUCATION:
REQUIRED:
Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical
PREFERRED:
Education in Tool & Die Engineering (Post Graduate or Post Diploma)
Masters in manufacturing engineering, product design and related courses
WORK EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
3-5 years design experience of Plastic and Sheetmetal components
PREFERRED:
Should possess sound experience in designing plastic, sheet metal & machined components along with their tooling design.
