Job Summary : We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Scrum Master to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a servant-leader who facilitates and supports our development teams in delivering high-quality products using Agile/Scrum methodologies. You will be responsible for ensuring the team adheres to Scrum principles and practices, removing impediments, and fostering a collaborative and productive environment. Key Responsibilities : Scrum Facilitation : – Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives. – Ensure the team adheres to Scrum principles, values, and practices. – Guide and coach the team on self-organization and cross-functionality. – Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning. Impediment Removal : – Identify and remove impediments that hinder the team’s progress. – Work with stakeholders to resolve dependencies and address blockers. – Shield the team from external distractions and interruptions. Team Coaching & Mentoring : – Coach and mentor the development team on Agile/Scrum best practices. – Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment. – Encourage open communication and transparency. – Help the team to become self-organizing and high-performing. Product Owner Collaboration : – Collaborate with the Product Owner to refine the product backlog and ensure clear understanding of requirements. – Assist the Product Owner in prioritizing backlog items and managing sprint goals. – Facilitate communication between the development team and the Product Owner. Stakeholder Communication : – Communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide regular updates on sprint progress. – Facilitate communication and collaboration between the team and external stakeholders. – Ensure transparency and alignment across all stakeholders. Metrics & Reporting : – Track and report on team progress using Agile metrics (e., burndown charts, velocity). – Identify trends and patterns to improve team performance. – Provide regular reports to management and stakeholders. Continuous Improvement : – Facilitate sprint retrospectives and identify areas for improvement. – Encourage the team to experiment with new practices and techniques. – Promote a culture of learning and knowledge sharing. Agile Advocacy : – Champion Agile/Scrum principles and practices within the organization. – Educate stakeholders on the benefits of Agile methodologies. – Contribute to the development of Agile best practices and standards. Qualifications : Agile/Scrum Knowledge : – Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum principles, values, and practices. – Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies. – Knowledge of other Agile methodologies (e., Kanban, Lean). Communication & Facilitation : – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. – Strong facilitation and coaching skills. – Ability to resolve conflicts and build consensus. Problem Solving : – Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. – Ability to identify and remove impediments. Leadership : – Servant-leadership mindset. – Ability to motivate and empower teams. – Ability to influence without authority. Technical Understanding : – Basic understanding of software development processes and technologies. Soft Skills : – Ability to work independently and as part of a team. – Strong organizational and time management skills. – Ability to adapt to changing priorities. Preferred Qualifications : – Scrum Master certification (e., CSM, PSM). – Experience with Agile project management tools (e., Jira, Azure DevOps). – Experience in a specific industry domain relevant to the company’s business. – Experience with scaling Agile frameworks (e., SAFe, LeSS). – Experience with remote or distributed teams.
