Position: Electrical Design Engineer (Primary Design)
Industry: Renewables
Academic Qualification: B. E/B. Tech in Electrical Engineering
Experience Required: 9 years to 12 years
Location: Chennai
Software Exposure: Auto CAD, Google Sketch-up, PVsyst, Dulux, ETAP,etc..
Roles & Responsibilities:
Prepare and review detailed designs and drawings for primary electrical components such as switchyards, transformers, isolators, circuit breakers, busbars, gantries, and cable trenches.
Develop Single Line Diagrams (SLD) , General Arrangement (GA) drawings, grounding layouts, and equipment layout drawings.
Coordinate with civil, structural, and secondary design teams to ensure seamless integration of all project elements.
Perform load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination studies using relevant tools (e.g., ETAP, Power World, DIg SILENT).
Prepare technical specifications and bill of materials (Bo M) for procurement of primary electrical components.
Review vendor drawings and ensure compliance with design intent and project specifications.
Support construction and commissioning teams with technical clarifications and field-engineering support.
Ensure adherence to applicable IS/IEC standards, CEA regulations, and grid code requirements.
Collaborate with project management and site teams to ensure timely delivery of design packages.
Good knowledge of applicable Indian and international standards.
Understanding of grid connection requirements and substations (33/11 k V, 132/33 k V, etc).
Experience in preparation of Earth mat calculation, DSLP, Lighting, Battery charger & Battery set calculation for PSS as per relevant IS & IEC standard.
Preparation of Line loss study for wind farm and solar farm upto Grid SS
