Job Title: UI/UX Designer Location: Bangalore, India Experience: 4+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design, wireframing, and prototyping skills. About Alt Carbon: Alt Carbon is India’s leading Carbon Removal (CDR) company. We blend science, technology & tradition to undertake climate action to turn the clock on historic emissions in the atmosphere. Our science and technology takes place in Bangalore; our operations are undertaken in Darjeeling’s heritage tea estates. Role Overview: As a UI/UX Designer at Alt Carbon, you will play a pivotal role in designing user-centric interfaces for our digital platforms, ensuring seamless and engaging experiences for our users. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and sustainability experts, to translate complex data and processes into accessible and visually appealing designs. What You’ll Do: User Research & Analysis: Conduct user research to understand target audiences, their needs, and behaviors. Analyze user feedback and activity to enhance the user experience. Design & Prototyping: Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas. Design graphic user interface elements, such as menus, tabs, and widgets. Develop high-fidelity prototypes that illustrate design concepts and interactions. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with product managers and engineers to gather and evaluate user requirements. Present design concepts to stakeholders and incorporate feedback to refine designs. Usability Testing & Implementation: Conduct usability testing to identify and troubleshoot UX problems. Collaborate with developers to ensure the successful implementation of designs. What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Design, Computer Science, or a related field. Proven experience of min 4 years as a UI/UX Designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing design projects. Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar. Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices. Excellent visual design skills with attention to detail. Experience with conducting user research and usability testing. Knowledge of front-end development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications: Experience designing for data-intensive applications or platforms. Familiarity with sustainability and environmental topics, particularly related to CO2 removal technologies. Experience managing and contributing to a design system. Why Join Us?
